Q: I would like you to be my photographer, how do I start the process?
A: Let's set up a time to meet. You may reach me by phone or email. I would like to meet you both in person so you can get to know your future photographer and can ask me anything. I will bring a copy of the contact for you to review. When you have decided to seal the deal just sign the contract and mail or scan and email it to me. That's it!
Q: What does a wedding session cost?
A: Weddings are $2,800. If, you want to build your own custom package we can do so in person, by phone or email. My goal is to help you find a wedding package that fits your needs and budget.
Q: Do I need a deposit to hold my date and how much do I need to deposit?
A: I require a 50% initial deposit and the rest of the fee to be paid 14 days before the wedding day.
Q: How far should we book in advance?
A: Typically photography is secured 6-12 months prior to the big day. However, always check with me for your dates availability. If your date is available as little as 14-days is needed to secure the date.
Q: Will you be shooting the wedding?
A: Yes. I also shoot with an assistant/2nd photographer. This frees me up to focus on shooting and looking for special moments while ensuring that between the two of us, we don’t miss the important ones. The 2nd shooter offers a different but complementary perspective and allows us to work efficiently throughout the entire day.
Q: Do you have a replacement wedding photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
A: Yes, I have a network of experienced brilliant photographers that can be substituted. Though this has yet to happen.
Q: Do you travel?
A: I love to travel and will generally arrive at least the day before the event to help ensure that unexpected travel delays do not make me late or miss your big day. Let me know where you are and we’ll figure out the best way to get me out to you.
Q: When should we do the wedding portraits?
A: Everyone's wedding day is unique. We will sit down and work out a schedule that suits your day. Portraits done before the ceremony allows you to check one more thing off the day’s to-do list early on and, more importantly, to afford you and the wedding party a chance to enjoy the cocktail hour and mingle with your guests. Shooting after the ceremony, depending on the time, could allow you to take advantage of the setting sun and its softer light. We can always do a combination of both.
Q: Do you take wedding photos somewhere other than the church/ceremony/reception location?
A: Yes, I do this with many couples and many find this to be one of the most enjoyable parts of their day. We can plan and schedule time to shoot your wedding photos virtually anywhere you have in mind. Or, I can suggest one of the many unique locations I have scouted, including outdoor, urban, warehouse, natural and parkland settings. I will work with you to design a session that fits your personality and desire.
Q: Do you take getting-ready shots?
A: These are some of my favorite photographs to capture. The fun and excitement the glamour and the calm and solemn moments when the bride and groom think about their vows.
Q: Do you shoot in B&W?
A: I love B&W photographs. There is something so timeless and classic about them. Shooting in digital allows me to decide after the fact whether to process the image in B&W or Color. When I capture the image I do so with a color preference in mind based on what I am seeing.
Q: When will I get to see my wedding photos?
A: Your photos will generally be ready within 6-12 weeks following the wedding. I go through a careful system of processing your photos with individual attention.
Q: Do you offer albums? Who chooses the photographs in the album?
A: Yes, albums may be purchased ala carte I offer custom-designed albums along with a selection of other a la carte products. This is a team effort. You will pick photos that you must have in the album. This can be anywhere from 0 to the entire album. However, I do advise that you let me select the order of the best and more relevant photos to tell the story of your wedding day.
Q: Will you post the photographs online?
A: Yes. Your photos will be available online for 90 days. You will receive a link that you can share with anyone and everyone you like. They will be able to order from the site and have the photos directly shipped to them.
